directed by Nevra Ayan, “pespaye” is a visual cabinet de curiosité of our hidden and essential roots where daydreaming neglects any meaning whatsoever.
despite the outcome, the Turkish word “pespaye” itself meets multiple meanings in English. It could be vile, vulgar, shabby or even despicable… Ayan describes the character – played by Onur Yazıcı – as an embodiment of someone’s lowness and decadence feelings towards themselves. this leads into meaningless – somewhat worthless – acts, images, pieces and passages within the edgy borders of delusion with slow pace track-ins.
“pespaye” is an apart premiere.
